Does the welding process of Permanent Jewelry hurt?

There is absolutely no pain caused by the welding process of a piece of Permanent Jewelry. The weld will only activate on a grounded piece of metal. Also, a piece of leather is placed between the permanent jewelry and the skin as additional protection from the pliers used to close the jump ring.

What is Permanent Jewelry?

Simply put, Permanent Jewelry is clasp-less jewelry. 

In more detail, chain is custom fit to your wrist, ankle, and/or neck. The chain is closed together with a jump ring. That jump ring is then fused closed with the use of a micro welder.

Is Eye Protection required for the Welding Process of Permanent Jewelry?

If you would like to watch the welding process, then yes Shade 5 welding glasses are provided and should be worn. The welding process can also be safely viewed through the lens of a smart phone.

How long does the Permanent Jewelry process take?

In most situations, the process can be completed in about 10 - 15 minutes per piece.

Do I need to sign a Permanent Jewelry Waiver and Release of Liability?

Yes, Candy’s Rock Shop requires each guest to sign a Permanent Jewelry Waiver and Release of Liability, at each appointment. The Permanent Jewelry custom fitting process will not begin without a signed Permanent Jewelry Waiver and Release of Liability.

What if I change my mind? 

All Permanent Jewelry sales are final once the custom fit is completed, the chain has been cut and placed for welding.

Will my Permanent Jewelry last forever?

Unfortunately, probably not. The intent of Permanent Jewelry is to stay on the body without the use of a clasp. With constant wear the links of the Permanent Jewelry will likely wear and your Permanent Jewelry may naturally fall off while doing a normal activity.Remember to keep the pieces! Upon inspection, if the links of your Permanent Jewelry aren’t too worn, you may be able to have it re-welded, a clasp may be added to convert your permanent jewelry into removable jewelry, or you may want to keep the pieces to trade in as scrap metal at a later time.

How can Permanent Jewelry be easily removed at home?

Permanent Jewelry caneasilybe removed from home by simply snipping the connecting jump ring with nail clippers or a small pair of scissors.Remember to keep the pieces! What if I have a medical procedure (example: MRI, X-Ray, etc.)?

Why are only 2 Permanent Jewelry bracelets, per each wrist, ankle or neck, recommended?

For safety purposes, the chains used for Permanent Jewelry are dainty and designed to break apart if pulled too hard or are caught on something. Having more than 2 chains per wrist, ankle, or neck will create a stronger chain altogether and could cause serious injury if caught/pulled.

If there are individuals who wish to have additional pieces of jewelry made, all of the permanent jewelry options are available and can be easily assembled with clasps. However,there will be an increase in price due to the added materials and additional time taken to incorporate them.

Can the jewelry be assembled with clasps instead of the welded jump ring?

Yes! All of the permanent jewelry options are available to be assembled with clasps. However,there will be an increase in price due to the added materials and additional time taken to incorporate them.

What type of welder is used for Permanent Jewelry?

Candy’s Rock Shop uses the Sunstone Zapp +, a pulse-arc welder that creates a pulsed electrical current.

Will my Permanent Jewelry  tarnish?

Sterling Silver Permanent Jewelry will more than likely tarnish. Tarnish can be caused by elements and compounds in the air, exposure to chemicals in cleaning products and chlorine found in pools/hot tubs. If you notice tarnish on your Permanent Jewelry gently clean it with a mild dish soap (Dawn) and a very soft tooth brush. A jewelry polishing cloth may also be used.

How is Permanent Jewelry cleaned?

Cleaning your Permanent Jewelry is simple! Simply clean your Permanent Jewelry with a mild dish soap (Dawn), or a basic white toothpaste, followed by a gentle rinse with a very soft toothbrush. A jewelry polishing cloth may also be used.

Is there an age requirement for Permanent Jewelry?

Permanent Jewelry will not be installed on anyone younger than 13 years of age.

Anyone below the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian and appropriate identification will be required.

What is your Return Policy?

All sales, including Permanent Jewelry, are Final Sale and not eligible for refunds at any time. However, if you have any issues with any of your purchases; please reach out to me as I would like the opportunity to correct the situation.

What is your Permanent Jewelry Re-Weld Policy?

A FREE one-time re-weld will be provided for any Permanent Jewelry that has fallen off within 7 days of the original purchase, on only the jewelry that appears on the original sales receipt. Said jewelry must be provided at the re-weld appointment, the original guest, along with the original sales receipt.

What is your Permanent Jewelry Replacement Policy?

A replacement of any lost Permanent Jewelry, within 7 days of original purchase, will be provided at a 50% discounted rate of the original piece(s) as priced on the original sales receipt for the original named guest.
